Investment Management in Rumson, NJ
We build and run portfolios around what your money needs to do, then explain every trade, fee and rule in plain terms. You see how your accounts are positioned, why they are positioned that way, and what we would change before anything moves.
Steady, documented care for your portfolio
Investment management is the ongoing work of choosing, holding and adjusting investments so your portfolio stays matched to your goals and your tolerance for risk. It is less about picking winners and more about discipline: a written allocation, regular rebalancing, attention to costs and taxes, and a clear record of why each decision was made.
Securities work comes with rules, and we think clients deserve to understand them. We hold the Series 7, Series 66 and SIE licenses, and we walk you through what that means for you, which disclosures you will receive, how account paperwork and suitability reviews work, and where your assets are actually held. Nothing important is left in the fine print.
It is the right call when your accounts have grown past what you want to manage on evenings and weekends, or when you have a plan from our financial planning work and want someone to carry it out with care.

What our investment management covers
- 01
A written investment policy
We put your target allocation, risk range and income needs on paper before we invest. It becomes the reference point for every later decision, and you keep a copy.
- 02
Portfolio construction
We choose a mix of funds and securities that fits that policy, paying close attention to expense ratios, trading costs and how holdings overlap across your accounts.
- 03
Rebalancing with a reason
Markets pull a portfolio away from its targets. We bring it back on a set schedule or when drift passes agreed limits, and we note why each trade happened.
- 04
Tax-aware placement
We consider which assets belong in taxable, IRA and Roth accounts and watch for chances to harvest losses. Deeper strategy is coordinated through our tax management service.
- 05
Clear reporting and reviews
You receive statements directly from the custodian and hold regular reviews with us, at our office or by phone and video. We cover performance, fees and any changes in plain language.

Accounts scattered everywhere
An old 401(k), a brokerage account, an inherited IRA. When nobody looks at them together, risk and fees build up unnoticed.
You are not sure what you own
If you cannot say what your allocation is or what you pay in fund expenses, the portfolio is running you rather than the other way around.
A major change in your life
A business sale, an inheritance, retirement on the horizon or a growing family changes what your money needs to do.
Decisions driven by headlines
Selling in a downturn or chasing whatever just went up are common and costly habits. A written policy and a second set of eyes help you hold course.
One stock dominates
A large position in employer shares or a single company can swing your whole result. We help you plan a measured path down, with taxes in view.
How we take on your portfolio
- 1
Introductory meeting
We talk through your goals, timeline and current accounts. You learn how we work, how we are compensated and what the paperwork involves.
- 2
Review of what you hold
With your statements in hand, we map every holding, its cost, its tax status and how your accounts fit together. We show you what we found, including what is already working well.
- 3
Proposal and disclosures
We present a recommended allocation and the reasoning behind it, along with the required disclosure documents. We go through them line by line and answer your questions before you sign anything.
- 4
Transition and ongoing management
Once accounts are opened or transferred to the custodian, we reposition carefully, mindful of taxes and trading costs. From there we monitor, rebalance and meet with you on a regular schedule.
What shapes the cost of investment management
Fees depend on how much we manage, how complex your accounts are and how the arrangement is structured. We explain our compensation and every cost you will bear before you commit, and all of it appears in your documents in writing. We do not quote figures until we understand your situation.
- Assets under management
- Many arrangements are based on the value of the accounts we oversee, so the size of the portfolio matters most.
- Number and type of accounts
- Several taxable, retirement and trust accounts take more coordination than a single IRA.
- Underlying fund expenses
- Funds carry their own internal costs, separate from any advisory fee. We point these out and favor efficient options where they fit your plan.
- Taxes on the transition
- Selling existing positions can trigger capital gains. Sometimes the wiser move is to shift a portfolio gradually over more than one tax year.
Investment management questions
Who actually holds my money?
Your assets sit with an independent custodian, in accounts titled in your name. We manage the investments only under the authority your paperwork grants us. Statements come to you straight from the custodian, so you can check every position and transaction on your own.
What do the Series 7, Series 66 and SIE licenses mean for me?
The SIE is the entry-level securities industry exam. The Series 7 covers a wide range of securities and transactions, and the Series 66 covers state securities law and investment advice. Holding all three means we have passed the exams regulators require for this work, and we will gladly walk you through how that affects what we can do for you.
Will you promise a certain return?
No, and no honest advisor can. Investments go up and down, sometimes sharply. What we provide is a disciplined process, clear reporting and a portfolio sized to the level of risk you can genuinely live with.
Does every account need to come under your management?
Not at all. It is common to begin with a single account and bring others over as trust builds. A workplace 401(k) that stays with your employer can still be counted when we set your overall allocation, so the whole picture fits together.
How often will we talk?
We hold scheduled reviews and get in touch when something meaningful shifts in the markets or in your life. Meetings take place at our office or by phone or video, whichever you prefer. Between reviews, you are always welcome to call with a question.
